Our wedding will be at The Farmhouse at Strathmere, a country estate in North Gower about 30 minutes south of downtown Ottawa. Please give yourself extra time for rural roads, parking, and the walk from your car to the celebration.

Follow the driveway into Strathmere and look for signs for The Farmhouse. Strathmere has multiple event spaces, so please follow venue signage and staff directions when you arrive.

Parking & Overnight Parking

Complimentary parking is available for all wedding guests at Strathmere. Guests are welcome to leave their vehicles onsite overnight; vehicles must be collected the following morning by 10:30 am.

Driving from Ottawa

Most guests coming from Ottawa, Barrhaven, Nepean, or Manotick should plan on a 20–40 minute drive, depending on where you are staying and weekend traffic.

Rideshare & Taxis

Uber and taxi drivers typically come out to Strathmere for pickups and drop-offs. For a local provider familiar with the area and venue, we recommend Capital Taxi at (613) 744-3333.

Staying Nearby

Ottawa, Barrhaven, Nepean, and Manotick are all great options for finding hotels or rentals.

If you’re making a weekend out of your visit (which we highly recommend!), here are a few of our favourite ways to spend time in and around Ottawa. These are the places we’ve explored together, made memories, and keep coming back to.

Explore Ottawa’s Museums

Whether you’re a history buff, an art lover, or just looking to spend a few hours indoors, Ottawa is home to some incredible museums. We recommend visiting the Canadian Museum of History, the Canadian War Museum, the Canadian Museum of Nature, the Canada Aviation and Space Museum, or the National Gallery of Canada. They’re a great way to experience Canada’s history, culture, and art in the Capital City!

Spend a Day in Gatineau Park

One of our favourite ways to unplug is by exploring the beautiful trails in Gatineau Park. Whether you’re looking for a scenic hike, a peaceful picnic, or breathtaking lookouts, there’s something for everyone. After your adventure, head into the charming village of Chelsea to browse local shops or enjoy a meal at one of its many cozy cafés and restaurants.

Wander the ByWard Market

The ByWard Market is one of Ottawa’s most iconic neighbourhoods and one of our favourite places to spend an afternoon. Grab lunch at The Pour House or The Grand Pizzeria, treat yourself to a matcha from Little Victories Coffee Roasters, then take a stroll through Major’s Hill Park or up to Parliament Hill to enjoy some of the city’s best views.

Stroll Along Bank Street

Bank Street holds a special place in our hearts: it is home to our very first date spot, Wild Oat Bakery & Café! Today, Bank Street is still one of our favourite places to wander. Browse the local boutiques, check out the Lansdowne Farmers’ Market if it’s running during your visit, and don’t forget to finish with a scoop (or two!) of gelato from Stella Luna.

Discover Wellington West

Wellington West is one of our favourite neighbourhoods to explore together. Enjoy a slice at Anthony’s Pizza, browse the unique local shops, or challenge your friends and family to a game at West Park Bowling. This neighbourhood is also especially meaningful to us because it’s where we rescued a few of our beloved cats, making every visit feel a little extra special.

It’s a great way to laugh together, solve puzzles, and see who thrives under pressure before or after hitting the wedding dance floor!
